This sounds very good to me. It seems a bit like a piece of music they'd use when the pace is starting to pick up and something is set in motion. There's plenty of variation and different parts in this song which is what I generally like in music. I especially liked the part where the voices kicked in again at around 2:00 and the final bit with the xylophone(-ish) instrument.

I'm afraid I can't really give you any pointers. Especially not about using the program and technical stuff. It sounds good to me as it is though. I wouldn't change too much if you're planning on redoing this piece.

Overall 4.5 out of 5. Nice work. Keep it up.

Ive added some military snares in the beginning and mixed it up a bit, ive also eq'd the choir some more to add the crispness.

Ill upload the updated piece soon :)

Good

If it isn't one of my favourite Zelda themes.

I think you did a nice job remixing it a little. It sounds nice overall. The changes you made to the original are pretty subtle, but I can hear they are present. It appears that you mostly changed the foreground instruments and kept the background tune about the same. That's fine I guess, although I wouldn't have minded if you also altered the background a bit more.

Overall 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. Good job. Keep up the good work.

KrisKrosNL responds:

I couldn't find another instrument to use for the background, because it sounded worse once I tried a different plugin. Maybe I should have scrolled through the MIDI options, but everytime I change the instrument in the MIDI plugin, it converts back into the original. It's frustrating. It's the only thing stopping me from making remixes better than usual.

I appretiate your review!

Nice

Again a nice ocarina song from you. This sounds a bit like the tune when you are diving underwater inside Gruntilda's Lair. I remember the theme used to alter to something like what you're playing here. It almost makes me think that they actually used an ocarina in the game for that part, but I doubt it.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Good work. I like how you're doing some of Banjo-Kazooie's music as well. I think both Ocarina of Time and Banjo-Kazooie have very memorable and recognizable soundtracks and it's nice to hear someone doing their own attempts.

Ocarina-Kid responds:

You're right it's a lot closer to the underwater theme than the original, I never realised that haha. I adore both these soundtracks (never would have guessed hey) and I'm glad you enjoyed my attempt, as simple as it is. Thanks for your indepth reviews Auz, muchly appreciated! You're a good guy :)

Great job

I like it very much. You played it very well in my opinion and the usage of an ocarina kinda suits this song. The original sounded a bit happier if I remember correctly, but I like the sound of this version too. It's a bit more down somehow, which is actually more like the atmosphere of Jinjo Village in the game.

Overall 10 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Probably the best work I've heard from you yet. Keep up the good work.

Ocarina-Kid responds:

Cheers Auz that means a lot coming from you, again I'm glad you enjoyed it (even if just one person enjoys it then my job is done) If there's anything you'd like to hear I'd love to give it a shot. Thanks again dude.

Nice

Very nicely played in my opinion.

I think your ocarina play on the first track (Title Screen) is much better than the other submission you uploaded in which you played the same tune. Maybe you should consider trying again and reuploading it.

For the rest I think you did well on all the other tunes too.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Good job. Again, keep practicing :)

Ocarina-Kid responds:

That's a good idea, thanks for suggesting that. Also thanks again for the review and kindness :)

Good

This is more like it. Seems like in this one you tried to make more of a coherent song rather than just some random playing. I agree that it's nice how diverse your work is so far. Sounds like you guys can do some rock, blues, funk and probably more guitar styles if you want.

The sound quality could be tuned up a little bit, but that's all the criticism I have on this one.

Also, if you can get some more instruments in there, like some drum or base loop, that would definitely be nice. I don't know if you got the equipment for that though...

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Hopefully you got more works like this.

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks Auz, we think we have the sound volume glitches fixed. And a variety of work and styles will be coming soon.

Thanks for the great review.
Cheers gamejunkie.

Hmm

I agree with SCTE3 that the volume seems a bit turned down on this one. Might want to see if you can edit it a bit and turn it up. The guitar effect was quite nice though, but this sounded a bit too much like just playing around with effects and not an actual attempt at anything.

Overall 6 out of 10, 3 out of 5. It's not bad, but I liked your first submission better. Personally I don't think I would've uploaded this if I were you because it's just too short and doesn't really seem to have an idea behind it, nor much effort.

~Auz

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks. Actually the problem with the sound is the recording volume was too high, but now we know that, it wont happen again. And take my word for it, plenty of effort went in here, we are just experimenting with different things. Length of tunes being one of them.

But thanks again for your honest appraisal, much appreciated.
Cheers gamejunkie.

Sounds good to me

It sounds good in my opinion. Some pretty good, relaxed guitar play.

The only point of criticism I can think of is that I think I can hear some noise somewhere halfway at around 0:38 seconds. Guessing it's just the amplifier being turned up. Perhaps you could've cut that out? Well for a test it's no big deal, but in a real attempt at a song it would be better to cut that kind of stuff out of course.

Overall 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. I do feel like I have to give it a bit lower for it being a jam session and not an actual song. But it's a nice first submission. Sounds promising so far.

~Auz

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks again Auz. The noise you hear, was my damn dog trying to catch a fly and bumping something he should not have. He has been barred from all future sessions.

Appreciate the great review.
Cheers gamejunkie.

Nice loop

This is a very nice loop in my opinion. I liked it a lot while playing Warp Game. It's very relaxing and makes me think of beautiful forests in fantasy / RPG games (something this loop would be very suitable for I think).

What I especially like about it is that you don't really notice that it's a loop if you put it up as background music. It's only 37 seconds long apparently, but after letting it loop for about five times I still have the feeling that it's just one long song (or that it might have looped once). I think that's another property that makes this suitable for use in games.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Even though it seems like a short and simple loop, it is still a good piece of music in my opinion. Great work.

Maverlyn responds:

Kudos!

Meh

In all honestly I did not like this version of Lance's battle theme that much. One of the main things I disliked were these fast drums which constantly played at the background. I think that made it a little too energetic which didn't fit the song that well in my honest opinion. It would be good if you added a few more relaxed parts without fast drums.

Also, I like sharp electric guitar solos and all, but I think you shouldn't use them too much or otherwise it just becomes boring to listen to.

I can clearly hear you've put a lot of effort into remixing this song though and there were a couple of parts I really liked. Unfortunately those parts weren't that long.

Overall 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I guess the reason I give this submission lower than most of the other reviewers is mostly just a matter of personal taste. This is just not really my kind of remix, but apparently a lot of other people love it. Oh well.

~Auz

Burn7 responds:

To each his own, I personally hate this version that's up on NG. I do like my remastered one though.

The drums are fast because it's a Metal song. And because it's supposed to be a battle. Battles don't usually have relaxed parts in them.

If you want to give it a second chance, here's the remastered version. I'm not gonna lie though, not much is different. I get the weird feeling you're more Electronica-oriented than harder metal stuff, so I'm completely okay with the mediocre score.
