Sounds good to me

It sounds good in my opinion. Some pretty good, relaxed guitar play.

The only point of criticism I can think of is that I think I can hear some noise somewhere halfway at around 0:38 seconds. Guessing it's just the amplifier being turned up. Perhaps you could've cut that out? Well for a test it's no big deal, but in a real attempt at a song it would be better to cut that kind of stuff out of course.

Overall 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. I do feel like I have to give it a bit lower for it being a jam session and not an actual song. But it's a nice first submission. Sounds promising so far.

Thanks again Auz. The noise you hear, was my damn dog trying to catch a fly and bumping something he should not have. He has been barred from all future sessions.

Appreciate the great review.
Cheers gamejunkie.

Nice loop

This is a very nice loop in my opinion. I liked it a lot while playing Warp Game. It's very relaxing and makes me think of beautiful forests in fantasy / RPG games (something this loop would be very suitable for I think).

What I especially like about it is that you don't really notice that it's a loop if you put it up as background music. It's only 37 seconds long apparently, but after letting it loop for about five times I still have the feeling that it's just one long song (or that it might have looped once). I think that's another property that makes this suitable for use in games.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Even though it seems like a short and simple loop, it is still a good piece of music in my opinion. Great work.

Kudos!

Hmmm

The tune is quite catchy, but overall the song is a bit simple and it isn't very dynamic. Also, after a while the tune does start to annoy a little bit. I kinda like how it sounds so silly though.

Overall 6 out of 10, 3 out of 5. Not bad, but nothing great either. I'm guessing not that much effort went into this. Try harder next time I'd say.

Lol

Lol. The tune sounds really happy and funny. I don't remember the music of Banjo's house sounding like this, but if you say so... Anyway, it's nice that you made something original instead of remixing an already exsisting song. I think it's well made and I like the 8-bit sound to it.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. A nice and funny theme. Well done.

Nicely done

I liked how you used the piano and uppened the pace a little. It gives the song quite a different feel. It makes me think about some cartoon chasing scene or something, especially the first minute or so. Afterwards the song gets a bit darker, but still, I think it's very suitable for use in a flash submission.

Anyway, I think you did a good job here. You played the song very well. Keep up the good work.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5.

Didn't like it all that much

While I think it's interesting to experiment with dance mixes of songs, I don't think it worked out as well for this one. It doesn't sound much like Banjo-Kazooie music anymore. In fact, if it wasn't in the title, I probably would've vaguely recognized the tune but wouldn't have been able to come up with where it's from. It's just too different from the original and all together sounds like a pretty standard, happy dance mix song to me.

Still, it's not poorly done though. It's a nice attempt and I can hear you have definitely put some effort into it. I encourage you to keep experimenting like this.

Overall 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5.

Nice

Very nice remix. Out of the many versions that are actually in the game, it reminds me most of the winter one. I think it had about the same pace and at some points the instruments used seem similar.

I liked how you added a bit more variety than the game did. You had some piano, accordion and bass parts with different backgrounds, whereas the game used the same instrument throughout most of the tune if I remember correctly. I agree with you that the chords at 0:39 sound great.

I don't really have any suggestions on how to improve the theme. Of course adding more parts might make it a bit better. Perhaps some horn or flute parts like the game had.

Overall 9 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Great job. A trance / dance remix might be interesting, but I'd probably prefer this one. Trance and dance lovers will probably like it, but I doubt it will feel as Banjo Kazooie-ish as this version does.

Meh

In all honestly I did not like this version of Lance's battle theme that much. One of the main things I disliked were these fast drums which constantly played at the background. I think that made it a little too energetic which didn't fit the song that well in my honest opinion. It would be good if you added a few more relaxed parts without fast drums.

Also, I like sharp electric guitar solos and all, but I think you shouldn't use them too much or otherwise it just becomes boring to listen to.

I can clearly hear you've put a lot of effort into remixing this song though and there were a couple of parts I really liked. Unfortunately those parts weren't that long.

Overall 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I guess the reason I give this submission lower than most of the other reviewers is mostly just a matter of personal taste. This is just not really my kind of remix, but apparently a lot of other people love it. Oh well.

Burn7 responds:

To each his own, I personally hate this version that's up on NG. I do like my remastered one though.

The drums are fast because it's a Metal song. And because it's supposed to be a battle. Battles don't usually have relaxed parts in them.

If you want to give it a second chance, here's the remastered version. I'm not gonna lie though, not much is different. I get the weird feeling you're more Electronica-oriented than harder metal stuff, so I'm completely okay with the mediocre score.

Excellent

Excellent song in my opinion. I've rarely encountered any submissions in the audio portal with vocals before, so this was nice for a change. I think your singing was very well done. I'm also not into jazz normally, but I really liked this song nonetheless.

Overall 10 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Great job.

Sounds very familiar

This sounds so familiar. I see it's used in a lot of entries on Newgrounds, but I have a feeling that I've heard this somewhere else before. After searching around for a bit on Google I couldn't find anything though. So I suppose you just thought this up yourself (if not then I'd gladly hear where it's from).

Anyway, you did a really good job on this. It's a very funny tune in my opinion that could be used in a lot of comedy shows. It's very recognizable so it would certainly be suitable for that.

Overall 10 out of 10, 5 out of 5. Great job.
