[Save The Village]

Still misses a couple of things

Well it was a pretty cool game, looks a bit like Demonic Defence, but I don't care cause I like that game. Not much stuff that needs improvement here, only the graphics I think. However, there are some things that should be added in my opinion. The game didn't got boring too soon, but after playing it for about 10 minutes... I got bored. If you add some stuff, it could be a lot more fun and will not get boring after 10 minutes. Here are some suggestions:

First of all, add some music and sounds. That's one of the most important things in a game or a movie and I think I would've given it a higher score if it had music. Second, you need to add some more enemies. Only 2 enemies isn't much, I think it would be cool if you also added flying enemies and some vehicles. Third, add more stuff to buy. A couple of ideas: Gunners, Lazer Canon's, A special weapon that can only be used once in every level, Mines, Walls, Guard Towers, People that start to run and blow themselves up (would be cool) etc. I think these things will make the game a lot better. Fourth, different worlds maybe? Every level has it's own background.. that would be pretty cool. You could also add some levels with water then and have some boats as enemies. Fifth, the tank was pretty useless actually. It took a long time before it reloaded and you couldn't kill that many enemies with it at once. You could make something so that the tank will search for a target and then fires automaticly without having to press space and reloads a lot quicker.

Anyway, overall I'd give this game 6 out of 10, 3 out of 5. It deserves a higher score I think. I saw that you had to make this in a certain time period cause your friend told you, so I think you should resubmit, cause it has some potential. I hope you'll make an Save The Village 2 someday and hopefully you've added some of my ideas in it as well then =) Well keep it up and good luck with any other future projects.

[Letters Game]

Simple game, but fun for a while

I thought this wasn't going to make it, but it seems like it still got a pretty high score. 2.39 is certainly not bad, especially not for a game as simple as this. I have a feeling that this game isn't finished yet. I don't know if you were going to remake this or something, but here are a couple of suggestions that could make the game a lot better.

First of all, add some backgroundmusic. The game was a bit boring you know, some backgroundmusic might make the game a bit more interesting. You could also add some sounds for when you score points. Second, you could add a different background. The current background was not that special, but if you make it different, make sure that the letters can still be seen. Third, you could add some levels. I noticed that the letters were going faster after a while, but I think it would be better if you just made levels. You know, level 1 the letters are really slow and they are only worth 1 points. At level 5 the letters are going faster and are worth 5 points etc. and you need 50 letters to get to the next level. You could also make it completely different of course but just try to think of something. Fourth, (saw this suggestion in another review) short words and sentences could indeed make the game even more fun.

These were just a couple of suggestions, I don't think you are ever going to improve this game actually, your probably to busy working on dwarf-killing. Anyway, overall I'd give this game 5 out of 10, 2 out of 5. It was a very simple game, funny to play for a while, but became a bit boring later on. Well good luck with any other things you are going to make in the future.

[Magus RPG]

Great game

Wow, this was really a cool game. This kinda reminded me of Golden Sun, don't know if you got the idea from that game. Anyway, I played it for a couple of minutes. Too bad I couldn't see that much of it cause either the game is incredibly slow or my computer. It's most likely my computer. Anyway, from what I've seen from it, I think it deserves a daily second award. Might even deserve the daily first, but I haven't seen that movie (or game) yet. Still a couple of things that could make this submission even better.

First, you could add something so that you can see the amount of damage Magus does (a red number or something). Second, I wasn't able to enter the shelter and the mystic cave or at least that's what I thought at first. Seems like you can't enter it if you approach it from the side. Please make something so that you can enter it as well when you come from the right or the left. Third, when I did a dark bomb attack, the enemies had something like 44.5 HP left. That .5 looks a bit weird so I hope you'll fix that.

There were also a couple of good things about this of course. I liked the music and the sounds you've added in this. I also liked the sprites. I haven't seen those sprites before actually and I think they looked pretty good. The best part is probably the different worlds and the different enemies and backgrounds in them. Game would be a bit boring if you didn't added that.

So overall I'd give this 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. Well I guess I should still congratulade you with your daily second award. Don't think it'll win a weekly award though, 4.06 is probably not high enough. Still I think it's a great game and you've a pretty good job here. Anyway I hope to see some more stuff from you soon. Keep up the excellent work and good luck with making any other movies or games in the future

[Avoid the balls]

Good for such a low filesize

Say, this was actually pretty cool. I didn't really expected that much when I saw the filesize. Not many games with a filesize of lower then 100kb make it through the portal and when they do, they have a score like 1.61 or something close to that. This one made it with a pretty high score, 2.29 is pretty good. This is quite a challenging game, probably cause the balls also go faster and faster. Still I think you need to expand this game a little bit, here are some ideas:

First of all, you could add a better background. The current background was not bad, but it was a bit simple. Second, this is probably the most important thing, add some sounds and music. You could add some sounds for when the balls hit eachother, when the creature gets hit etc. I would add some simple music, but make sure it's not getting annoying after a while. Otherwise add something so that you can turn the music on and off. Third, you could add some more enemies, some more colors of balls maybe. Make something so that every ball has something special. Like for example add red balls that curve a bit, green balls go after the creature, blue balls that just fall down and keep going straight up an down etc. That'll make the game a lot more fun. Fourth, you could add some powerups. Like something that slows time, something that removes one ball from the field, something that gives the creature a protection shield and all kinds of stuff like that. Fifth, was there a retry button in this?? I haven't seen it, please add it, now I had to right click and then press play every time. I know that it's not that much trouble, but it would be better if the game itself had a retry button.

Well overall I'd give this 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I think you've done pretty well here. Like I said, I haven't seen many games with a low filesize and a decent score. Just expand this game a little and I'm sure the score can get very high, you might even win an award, who knows. Anyway, I hope to see some more stuff from you soon, keep up the good work and good luck with any other future projects.

[How to kill sheep]

Cool 'game'

This was a pretty cool game, it surely had some nice graphics. The sounds were also pretty good. Still the game ain't perfect. I feel like you should add a couple of things.

First of all, some backgroundmusic would be nice. Maybe you should add some Irish music, that might fit the movie pretty well. Second, I'd say give us some more options, four options weren't that much. Here are some ideas: bazooka, handgun, mine, bow, sword, stick, shotgun, lazer, toxic gas, shurikens. You don't have to add them all, but just a couple would be pretty cool. Third, maybe you should make it more like a game. You know, that you must really aim on the sheep and get points for every sheep you kill etc. That'd make the game a lot more interesting. You could also make the movies a bit longer, cause they were kinda short.

Anyway, I think it was a pretty good submission although I have a feeling that you can do even better then this. Like I said the graphics were pretty good and those are really important. I mean, if you can draw pretty well then you're capable of making an awesome movie I think, cause the rest probably ain't that hard to make.

Overall I'd give this movie 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I think you've done pretty well here, I enjoyed playing/watching this game. Well I hope to see some more stuff from you soon, I would say keep up the good work and good luck with any other projects you were planning to make in the future.

[Star Wars Game]

Could use some improvement

It was a nice try, but it wasn't really a great game. There were several things that could use a little improvement and if you added some things the game will become a lot less boring.

First of all, the X-wing or whatever one of those things is called could fly outside the screen. I hope you'll fix that. Second, the background was kinda boring. It was just some stars with one planet. I suggest you add some more planets and make the stars move or something so that it looks more like the X-wing is really going forward. Third, I think you should add some more types of enemies and a final boss would be nice as well. You could also add some levels with a boss at the end of every level. That'll make the game a lot more interesting. Fourth, I think it would be cool if you added some more weapons. I've never watched Star Wars before, but don't those things have something like missiles? I mean, they must have more weapons then only lazers right? Protection shields would also be pretty cool. Fifth, I think it would be better if you added something so that after you lose 3 lives, you're game over and all you points are counted together. Sixth, I think it would be better if you added some sounds. The music was nice surely, but it still misses some explosion and lazer sounds. Seventh, after I killed an enemy and I flew againts the explosion, I was death as well. This was pretty annoying so I hope you'll also fix this. Eight, some storyline would be nice. You don't have to add one, but it'll just be some nice extra little thing.

Overall I'd give this game 4 out of 10, 2 out of 5. There is probably some effort putten into this, but to me it was just not good enough. I hope you'll think about some of my ideas and fix some of the stuff that didn't worked that well. I hope your next submission will be a bit better then this. [Kill 'em All]

Thought this wouldn't make it

I felt like reviewing this, but when I saw the score after I voted, I thought: "meh this is gonna get blammed anyway". For some weird reason it has been saved so here's the review. It's not really a very good game, but I've seen worse. There were a lot of things that you should add and things that needed a little improvement.

First of all, you should add some music and sounds. Those will make the game a lot more interesting. Ask around the BBS if you dunno were to find them. Second, you need to work a bit on the graphics. They weren't really that good. You also need to add a background. Third, the black round thingies seem to come out of nowhere. When those enemies were at the bottom of the screen and even outside the screen those round things still kept coming. You also need add something so that those enemies can not go outside of the screen. Fourth, you should add some special effects. Stuff like explosions when you lose a life. Fifth, I think it would be cool if you added some powerups. You know, stuff like missiles, double lazers, something that gives you extra speed, something that protects you for a short while etc. That'll make the game a lot less boring.

Overall I'd give this game 3 out of 10, 1 out of 5. It's quite rare that something with such a low filesize passes judgement. It's also pretty hard to believe that you spended so much time on this. Maybe you should make some sprite movie next time, I think they're easier to make (not sure though). Anyway, I hope that you'll improve with flash. Keep on practicing I'd say. [The History of Egypt]

Kinda boring

Meh, it was kinda boring if you ask me, but that's cause I ain't so very interested in the history of Egypt on saturday morning =) If I ever have to look for anything about Egypt, I doubt I'll use this. There are places were I can get a lot more information and Newgrounds is an entertainment site, so I wouldn't have submitted this unless it gives a lot more information then it does now.

So I would say, you should expand this. The info it gave right now was kinda short, you should give some more details about what exactly happened at sudden moments etc. You could also at info about Farao's, Egyptian symbols and the Nile, kinda weird that you didn't added that (or at least, I couldn't find anything about them). Those three were pretty important in the history if Egypt I thought. Second, the graphics could use a little improvement at some places. The mouth of those two Egyptian guys looked kinda weird and Anubis didn't really looked that good. Third, well the Egyptian backgroundmusic fits, but I don't really like it so an 'off'-button would be nice. Also if you for example have seen everything about the gods and pressed 'menu', you went to the extra's. Those two things aren't really that important, but it would be better if you added and fixed that.

So I think it was an original idea to submit this, I haven't seen stuff like this before, but I don't think the people here would really like this. Still I can see there is some effort putten into this and it isn't really what I would call 'Crap' so I'll give this 5 out of 10 (2/5).
