Pretty cool, but got boring soon

This was a pretty cool game although it got boring pretty soon. I think the reason for this was because well, there were not that many options. You could only shoot in the right or the left corner and had a spell when you scored the first one. I think you should add something so that I can shoot in the left-topcorner and right-topcorner as well and also something so that I can shoot through the middle (and can also shoot high or low). Some more types of spells would also be cool, like you can earn spells by scoring three in a row. You can add spells that freeze the keeper, spells that make the ball go to the left first, but then suddenly go to the right corner, spells so that the ball goes right through the keeper etc. Those would make the game a lot more fun. Anyway, here is an explanation about the ratings.

Graphics: The graphics looked pretty good and the game was not choppy(I hope you know what I mean). Nothing wrong with the graphics, 8 out of 10. Style: I didn't really liked the style in this. The dark colors make the game look a bit boring, 5 out of 10. Sounds: The sounds and the music were very good. I liked those crowd sounds you added, the menuscreen music was also nice, 8 out of 10. Violence: No violence in this and it isn't necessary. 0 out of 10. Interactivity: Well not that much, just clicking if you want the ball to go to the left or the right. As I already mentioned above, there should be some more options in this. 6 out of 10. Humor: Well the troll looked pretty funny, but I don't think this was made for the humor either. Still I'll give it 4 out of 10 for humor.

So overall I'd give this game 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. It wasn't bad, but I've seen better Games-of-Gondor games. Anyway, keep it up and good luck with any other future projects.

Thanks alot for your constructive critism, I'll take notice incase I make a second version of the game. I appreciate that you took the time to describe a detailed comment instead of having one word comments. Thanks.

Pretty cool

A pretty cool submission. Never seen anything like this before and I liked the idea of it. My personality profile was teacher which didn't suprised me that much so I guess the tests give the right results. Here are a couple of suggestions that could make this little game even better.

First, in the beginning the test didn't even seem to start. After waiting for a while, I decided to right-click and press play, but you should fix this so that the test will start automaticly. Also, there are a couple of other things that didn't worked very well, but the people before me already mentioned that. Second, maybe you should add some music and sounds (or there is something wrong with my speakers again, but I see several other people voting 0 for this so I guess it just has no sounds or music). Third, well my score for those 4 types were 0 0 15 15 and it only said I was a teacher. I dunno if it choose one of the two where I had 15 for, but if that is so, then I think it would be better if you had added something so that it says: Teacher/Getter-Giver.

Overall I'd give this submission 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. Like I said, I liked the idea of this. It's not really that I've learned something from this, but I always like to do these kind of tests. Anyway, it was pretty good for one of your first submissions, a lot of people did worse then 2.70 on their first movie/game. Well, keep up the good work and good luck with any other future projects.

Good idea, but the game could have been better

Indeed a very simple and very addictive game (my highscore was 719, I think that's pretty high). I voted pretty low on it, cause in my opinion it was a bit too simple. The idea of this game was pretty good, but that is actually the only good thing about it. If you put a little bit more work in it, it could have had a score of 3.50 or even higher. Here are a couple of ideas and suggestions:

First, you should add some sounds for this. Some backgroundmusic would do this game good as well. Second, you should change the background. The black is pretty boring. I think you should change the background to something with a lab or something else that has to do anything with science. That's just my opinion, it's up to you to decide. Third, the blue things could be changed to atoms or bombs or something like that. Fourth, maybe you should add some more types of those blue thingies. You could add a couple of red ones that make a bigger explosion and green ones that make an explosion in four directions etc. This would make the game even more fun.

Like I said, I voted pretty low on this. 1 out of 5, 3 out of 10. Well even though I didn't voted high, I still think you've done a pretty good job here. Especially since the filesize is only 4Kb and it passed judgement with a score of 2.90. I've never seen anything with such a low filesize and such a high score before. Anyway, I hope you'll think about some of my ideas and resubmit or update it someday.

I liked this quiz

I thought I would know the answers to every question since I've played Majora's Mask from the beginning to the end 6 or 7 times by now. Still I only had a score of 85% (out of 40 questions). That's a positive thing actually, means the game is not to easy or at least, not to easy for me.

I have to admit, this is one of the few quiz games on NG that didn't bored me after question 5. Like I said, the questions were not to easy and the backgroundmusic was really nice. It was not just a black screen or a white screen or whatever as a background like in most of these games, that's another good part. Some advices I want to give you are: One, the menuscreen looked like a mess. There was simply to much text over there. You could add another button and if you click on that, it explains how to play and shows the FAQ etc. Two, to make the game even better, I'd say you should add an easy quiz, a normal quiz and a hard quiz. The easy quiz could have questions like: How is the land in MM called? (Termina), Who wears Majora's Mask? (Skullkid). Normal could have: What's the name of the fourth boss? (Twinmold). Hard: What was the name of the thief? (I forgot this one;p).

Overall I'd give this nice little game 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I enjoyed playing this game and I saw that you made one of these quizes for Ocarina of Time as well. I think I'll check that one out as well. Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck with making that Dragonball Z quiz.

Pretty good game

Well it was a pretty good game in my opinion. The menuscreen looked very nice, the rest of the graphics also looked very good, the sounds were okay, the menuscreenmusic was nice. These were the best things about the game. A couple of things could be a bit better, here are some suggestions:

First of all, the games itself had no music, except when I was at game 3, the music suddenly started, when I was at game 4, the music stopped. This was a bit weird, please add music in all the games. Second, maybe you should add ways to smash the ball and ways to do a drop shot (or whatever that's called). Like when you click left with your mouse, you smash, when you click right, drop shot. Third, it didn't mattered were I hit the ball with the racquet. I could even hit it with the part you normally hold your raqcuet (thought that was called a handle). Please fix this. Fourth, I suggest you add something so that I can change the difficulity level. The game was pretty easy actually, especially when you served from the right to the left or the left to the right. The computer always played the ball out then, this made the game not much of a challenge.

Overall I'd give this 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. Well like I said before, I think this is a pretty good game. I saw that this was only version 1.0 somewhere on the menuscreen. I hope you'll make a version 1.1 or 2.0 someday and that it'll be even better then this one. 3.70 is a high score, maybe it'll win a daily fifth or fourth. We'll see tomorrow. Anyway keep up the good work and good luck with any other future projects.

Awesome game

An awesome game, really one of the best games I've played here on Newgrounds. Also one of the very few games that I've played for about an hour, that only happened with three other games. I think this fully deserved all the important award you can win. 4.65, I've never seen a submission getting close to that score. Well I know that in a couple of weeks the score could be more close to 4.40, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was still in the top 50 next year.

Graphics: Normally I would have voted 6 or 7 cause it were sprites (right?). But everything looked very good alltogether here, the background, the enemies, the attacks, everything so 9 out of 10. There were also a couple of drawings on the menuscreen and they looked pretty good as well. Only thing that didn't looked very good was when you fired and then moved when you were that blue airplane, I hope you know what I mean. Style: I liked the drawingstyle at the menuscreen as I said above. 8 out of 10. Sound: Great music and sounds. They suited the movie well and I don't think there could be better music for this, 9 out of 10. Violence: No blood and all that, but that wouldn't suit the game anyway. There were a lot of explosions in this, 7 out of 10. Interactivity: Everything worked as it should work in this. Menuscreen worked good and I couldn't discover anything while I was playing, 9 out of 10. Humor: Well wasn't made for the humor, don't think this rating needs an explanation, 0 out of 10.

Overall I'd give this game 9 out of 10, voted 5 for this. Like I said before one of the best games I've played on NG. You really thought of everything, a save option, powerups, you can even decide the controls yourself. Still I don't give it a 10 for some reason, I only gave one submission a 10 so far though. Anyway, I added this to my favorites and I think I will play it again a lot of times. Well keep up the excellent work and good luck with any other future projects.

Yep, I'm aware of how choppy the blue laser is, so next time, I'm gonna redesign it. ;) I'm glad you like this - and thanks for the support! ^_^

Weird game

It was a pretty good game. I have to admit, this is one of the weirdest games I've played on Newgrounds. At the beginning the killing was the same every time. Later on, it got pretty random. Well that deffinatly made the game a lot more interesting. Although I also have to admit, sometimes the killing took pretty long. My computer ain't that fast though, but compared to the beginning, the killing scenes took nearly twice as long. That became a little bit boring after a while.

Another thing that was pretty weird in my opinion was that you could actually give up. You really think people would just give up? =). I've also never seen a 'I'll just have another go at the ..... level first' button before. Nothing wrong with these two options actually, just a nice extra little thing I guess.

The bad things about this were: First of all, some buttons didn't seem to work. Like for example, the start again button at the end took you back to the scene were that Rhino shot the camera/'you'. The more info button also didn't seem to work (or at least nothing seemed to happen at my computer). Second, the score was a bit weird. At a certain point I had 21750 points (or somewhere close to that), then I killed one of those guys and had 42 points. At the end I didn't seem to have a score at all. Dunno if this was about getting the highest score though, maybe you made it that way on purpose. Third, well the game was a bit too easy, none of the Rhino's were killed when I reached the end. Again, I don't know if it was supposed to be a challenging game.

Overall I'd give this 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. Like I said, a weird, but very original game. I give very high scores for violence and humor, cause those were the best parts of this game in my opinion. Seems like this was one of your first submissions and I think you've pretty well here. 2.98 isn't a bad score for one of your first flashes. Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck with any other future projects.

Looked nice in the beginning

Well everything looked pretty good actually. When I just started with the game I thought that it was gonna be a pretty good game. However, it was a bit dissapointing that there was not much to do. That's is the main reason for the low score I think. Here are a couple of suggestions that might make the game a lot better:

First of all, you should add some sounds and backgroundmusic. Just some music and sounds from Zelda games would be allright I think, it doesn't have to be special. Second, was I able to enter the houses and the cave? I've tried to get in several times, but it wouldn't work. You should add a level in that cave and some people in the houses when your going to make the real game (and I know you'll probably do that). Third, some enemies would be nice, the sword was only useful to cut grass and the shield wasn't usefull at all. You should also add a shop so that the rupees aren't worthless as well (this is about the same as I said earlier, there is not much to do, really). Fourth, a bigger world would also be nice. It only had 6 area's and not more then that. Make a larger world with a lot of different areas. Fifth, you could add a menuscreen were you can switch weapons for Z and X. You could add some weapons like bombs, a bow, a boomerang etc. (bombs wouldn't be too hard to add I think).

Overall I'd give this little game 5 out of 10, 2 out of 5. Looked pretty nice, but still not finished yet. You probably already wanted to add some of the suggestions I made above. Anyway, I hope I helped with this review and that the real version will be a pretty awesome game. Well, keep it up and good luck with making the full version.

PS: Are you sure these were NES sprites? This looked more like they were from Oracle of Ages. Haven't played the NES game before though.

A good game

This was a pretty good game. I guess The Adventures of Robin Hood will be submitted soon, am I right? Well a minigame will always improve the score, sometimes it improves the score a lot. This minigame alone got a score of 2.39 so I think the actual movie might even win an award. Anyone back to the game.

Graphics: the graphics looked pretty good in this, I liked the drawings. Would be better if you actually saw an arrow flying, but that doesn't really matter at all, 7 out of 10. Style: I liked the drawing style, 7 out of 10. Sound: too bad my sound doesn't work cause there's something wrong with my speakers, so I can't judge on that. Most people gave it a 5, so I'll just give it 5 out of 10 as well then. Violence: no violence in this, but that's allright. A lot of violence wouldn't suit Robin Hood anyway, 1 out of 10. Interactivity: it was a bit hard to aim. It was a bit annoying that you could only shoot when those two arrows crossed eachother. Good that it had a menu-screen although the instructions were not that much of a help, 6 out of 10. Humor: wasn't made for the humor, so 0 out of 10.

Overall I'd give this game 6 out of 10. A good game if you ask me. I think many people will like this extra thing when you submit the real movie. Maybe you could add some more different targets (like targets that are not moving from the right to the left, but up and down) and some rich people (that look a bit stupid), but if it's too much trouble then just keep it this way. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for The Adventures of Robin Hood, I hope for you that it'll win an award. Keep it up and good luck with making that movie.

SuperBokey responds:

Hehe wow thanks for that review!! But about the mouse thing, you dont have to wait for them both to cross to shoot, its supposed to have a realistic feel, if you try and move and shoot at the same time, chances are your not going to be very accurate, but if you wait a sec and let them line up, then you have a good chance of getting a bullseye! :D

Haven't seen anything like this before, good game

Say this was a pretty cool game. I haven't seen these kind of games before actually and I liked this one a lot. The fact that this game is pretty original is the main reason for the high score I think. Congrats with all the awards by the way, I think this game deserved them. Here are a couple of suggestions that might make the game even better:

One: The graphics were not that special, some more details would be nice cause everything looked pretty simpled. It doesn't have to be very detailed though. Two: Some more levels would be cool. There were only 3 levels in this, that's ain't that much. You could add some levels with huge open fields were you have to walk through to get back to the base or levels were you have to kill a special Vietcong member. Just think of something. You could also add some civilians that are actually Vietcong in disguise or something (and you options like: 1)Open Fire 2)Take some as prisoners 3)Just leave them alone (3 would be the big mistake)). Three: A group of soldiers that have some other commander would be cool. Then you can make missions were you have to look for them and you kill them if you choose the wrong option. Four: Add more countries were you can command troups. Iraq and Afghanistan or maybe even troups in World War II (Germany) for example. Five: Add some sounds. The music was nice, but I had a feeling that it missed gun sounds and explosions etc.

Overall I'd give this game 8 out of 10, 4 out of 5. I think you've done a good job here. I saw that you were planning to make a Field Command 2. I hope that it will be as good or maybe even better as this one. I also hope that you'll think of some of my suggestions and maybe if that one also get's a very high score, you'll make a 3rd version. Anyway keep up the good work and good luck with any other future projects.
